60% of webcam users are Male
This number really shocked me. Are 40% of webcam users really female? Based on the average webcam chat board I would have thought the number of male users is around 95%.

Logitech Ultra Press Release
I found the press release from logitech for the previously mentioned logitech ultra camera. It says it is going to be available in August for $130

According to digital-lifestyles, Logitech is going to be coming out with a webcam in August that is going to blow away current models.
The new QuickCam Ultra Vision will have double the resolution of the 5000 series cam, feature far superior optics, and a sensor capable of operating at much lower light levels.
I am optimistic this will be a cheaper alternative to DV cameras connected by firewire.
